Activision has announced that an expansion pack is in the works for Doom 3. Now since Doom 3 itself took so long to come out, I might be gray by the time we see the expansion pack. There is still hope however. The expansion pack, subtitled Resurrection of Evil, will be the first add-on package for id’s latest first-person shooter.

The expansion is already promising more enemies, weapons and maps to choose from as you travel through the underbelly of the beast to blow up baddies. The most notable nugget of information out right now about the expansion pack is that the double-barreled shotgun, which made its first appearance in Doom 2, will be added back to the weapons line up.

Personally I enjoy nothing more than blowing up demons with my weapon of choice, so for all gamers this is exciting news indeed. Look for it to be released, sometime before I start to draw out my social security.
