The folks at Microsoft involved with the Xbox are into much more than just video games. Recently it was announced that Microsoft has signed a sponsorship deal with Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). Guess MS wants to be involved with every aspect of gaming that they possibly can.

Microsoft Corp. has signed a sponsorship deal with Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), soccer’s world governing body, that will make its Xbox gaming console the official console of the 2006 FIFA World Cup, the company said Friday. “You’re going to see a large amount of World Cup and FIFA-related promotions over the next few years,” said Peter Moore, corporate vice president of Microsoft, announcing the deal at the Tokyo Game Show.
