It has been confirmed, the Playstation 3 will be making use of Blue-Ray disc technology. What does this mean to the PS3 owner? Well, the Blue-Ray technology is an evolution of the DVD format which provides six times more storage space than conventional DVD discs.
A single-sided, dual layer Blu-Ray (BD-ROM) disc can hold 54GB of data, compared with just over 9Gb on a standard DVD-ROM. This in turn means hopefully you will be receiving more or better video, graphics and game play for your buck. Oh 54GB of data, I can see the geeks drooling at the possibilities already because I’m one of them!
