Square Enix is in the early stages of creating another continuation of a former Final Fantasy game. With Final Fantasy X2’s success last year and all the buzz about the new DVD release of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, it might not be such a bad idea.

The new game will be another sequel to the Final Fantasy VII storyline and is set to take place one year after the events in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Currently the game is known as Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII and will feature ex-Turks gunman Vincent as the hero. Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII is slated for release on the Playstation 2 in 2005.

Personally, anything from Square Enix is gold, except for the whole Chocobo’s Dungeon series. I just cannot get too excited about a game where you must solve puzzles while riding an overgrown chicken.
