Fans of Rockstar’s hit Grand Theft Auto series will be delighted by one new feature of the upcoming Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. In the fifth chapter of the Grand Theft Auto series, your character has the ability to swim. That’s right. Grand Theft Auto has long featured grizzled criminal protagonists who can crash a helicopter into a burning building and walk away unscathed, yet like the Wicked Witch of the West, they seem to melt on contact with water. No more. Accidentally falling into a puddle will no longer mean the frustration of having to start your mission over from your last save point. Your character will now be able to tread water, swim at a moderate speed and even do a rapid breaststroke for short spurts (much like the character’s usual sprint ability on land). The new swimming ability is just one in a laundry list of new features and gameplay aspects that will be available in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will be released for Playstation 2 on October 22.
