Remember that rumour that Microsoft was going to buy Nintendo? Remember that? That little rumour? Do you? Well it turns out that it was a load of hooey. Nintendo public relations chief Yasuhiro Minagawa went so far as to say “Nintendo won’t sell itself [to Microsoft]. It’s not a possibility, and there is no such talk at all.” So there you have it. Another example of rumours getting ahead of themselves. Thankfully, though, us Gamecubers no longer have reason to call the apocalypse, or send Microsoft more of those “If you buy Nintendo, we’ll shoot this orphan” letters. Not that any of you sent those.
