I’ve always wanted to set up a wireless network in my house ever since I got a new laptop with and my pc’s hard drive was filling up. When I set up my internet wirelessly throught via router, I knew it was time to start sharing and transfering all my files from my PC to my Mac wirelessly. Many find it easy to set up their wireless internet network around their home or office, but have a hard time setting up the network in order for file sharing to occur. In this particular blog I will explain how simple and easy it is for you to share files wirelessly from your Mac to your PC.

1. Right click on your My Computer icon on your desktop and click on properties. Note: If you do not have the icon on your desktop it should appear in your start menu.
2. When the properties box appears, click on the “Computer Name” tab.
3. Click on the “Change” button located on the bottom right hand corner of the tab.
4. Enter your computer name and workgroup which you would like to keep.
5. Once this is done you will need to restart your computer in order for the changes to take place.

After the above steps are completed you are done with setting up your network from your Windows PC.
You will now need to select the files from your hard drive which you would like to share over the wireless network. Make sure your wireless network is secure with a password so that no unauthorized user is able to access your files which are being shared over your network. Once this is done you will now need to move over to your Mac.

1. Click on Finder which can be found in your dock.
2. On the upper left hand corner you will see “Network”. Clicking on this will further show you all the networks which are being shared over your wireless network.
3. Click on the Workgroup name which should be displayed in the list. This was earlier set in the above instructions when on the PC.
4. You will now see a list of computers which are connected to that workgroupl, one of them being your PC.
5. Click on the name of your PC and click connect.
6. It will ask you for your network administrator password which you have set to access administrator applications on your Mac.

You are now done and have successfully set up a wireless network between a Mac and a PC.

NOTE: The above blog is for networking between a PC and Mac OS X Tiger!!!

I was going through today’s blogs when I saw a title that attracted me as I am a muslim. What I came accross was an article written by someone who apparently has no understanding whatso ever on Islam, and has babbled on about a topic he has no clue of. Below is the article in full.

Allah is becoming more popular now then ever before, it seems like everyone is a muslim now, so i thought to myself “maybe allah does love me” so i looked in the Quran to see what allah has to say, and here are some loving verses from that holy book. (2:24 And if ye do it not - and ye can never do it - then guard yourselves against the Fire prepared for disbelievers, whose fuel is of men and stones.) ?? ummm, ok but im sure allah will give me a way to be saved! right??

(2:6 As for the Disbelievers, Whether thou warn them or thou warn them not it is all one for them; they believe not.) crap. but allah cares and wants the best for everyone, right?

(2:10 In their hearts is a disease, and Allah increaseth their disease. A painful doom is theirs because they lie.) but muslims are always saying “go to allah, he will show you the truth) i’m sure he will.

(2:7 Allah hath sealed their hearing and their hearts, and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be an awful doom.) wow… so next time you talk to a muslim just read the quran to him… it will scare the crap out of him!!

I can takee out verses from the Bible that are quite controversial, but is the point here to mock a religion or to respect a religion? I’s confused??? Taking out 4 verses from the Koran or Quran, and writing on about how the Islamic religion does not sound like a good enough reason to state that Islam is scary. These verses are in the context of certain situations and one who has read the entire Quran can only understand this. Unfortunately, the community member who wrote this article has not read the Quran and is making statements which are not only offensive, but also disrespectful to others religion.

Leopard has finally arrived to the consumer market as promised by Steve Jobs at Apple’s WWDC 2007 event. Having played around with OS X Leopard for the most part of the day, I think it is safe to say that Leopard is a positive successor to OS X Tiger. The highlight of Leopard as everyone is probably aware of, is Apple’s brand new function called Time Machine. The following link is an interesting review by Walt Mossberg of Wall Street Journal. I believe his last line before he ends the review, “I think it’s better than Vista” sums it all up.
