I just finished my first part of my examination yesterday. I don’t know how I did yesterday. I hope I will pass the paper. Now I can rest, for now. I will be having 2 more examination after the summer break. That’s how it is here in my university. They have examination before and after the semester break.
I just realize that I have to make something to make the world a better place to be. Everybody is saying it, but nobody wants to do it. So I spend some time researching what I can do, as a beginner. That is what this blog entry is all about. Someone has to start somewhere, isn’t it?
There are some Big International Non-Government Organizations (BINGO) that we can join which most of their main focus are to make a positive impact to the human society and the world.
For me, the easiest way to contribute is just by reading. Spend some time, read and improve your awareness about the things that is currently happening throughout the world. When you are already done that, then you can try to do something about it.
The next easy thing to do is save the energy. It doesn’t only stop global warming, but it also save your money. You can reduce the usage of heating and cooling and also change the electric appliances to an efficient. It doesn’t mean that you have to change all of it. You can start by changing the lightbulbs from incandescent bulbs to a more efficient ones such as compact fluorescents (CFLs) or fluorescent tubes.
So, stop doing nothing and make a change. Here are some BINGO websites to help you get started :
- AISEC
- Amnesty International
- CARE
- Greenpeace
- Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders)
- Oxfam
- Red Cross
- The Nature Conservancy
- SOS Children’s Village
- World Vision
I am getting a headache right now. Seeing all of the problems in the world. Got to go and take a rest.
