The Gas Mask Bra (Really)

I don’t need to check. In all the years since Chris Pirillo asked me to write here, I have not written anything about bras. However, that is about to change and I’ll chalk it up to the advancement of science:

“… Elena Bodnar, who lives in Chicago, got her start as a scientist in Ukraine, when she witnessed the devastating effects of the Chernobyl nuclear plant disaster in 1986. She noticed, among other things, that women were wearing bras that may have been lacy but were certainly not life-saving.

At the ceremony, Bodnar demonstrated her invention, which she said could have prevented people from breathing in Iodine-131 in the wake of Chernobyl. She graciously gave pink bras (each of which can turn into two gas masks) to actual Nobel laureates…”

It is amazing that there is a sudden interest in gas masks.

Pretty interesting, I’m just curious if women would really take it off when there’s a need to :P a good invention too..though very unusual.

Sounds like a great stocking stuffer for Christmas. The perfect gift for the girl who has everything. By the way, all bras were meant to be taken off. See: Buffet, master of the James Bond single-handed maneuver.
