Lower Flight Costs for Holiday Travel
It seems that it is possible to find and secure lower flight costs, as compared to last year. It may require some time, a large helping of diligence and knowing your prices:
“… “I think the best time to buy the fare is when it seems really cheap to you,” said George Hobica of AirfareWatchdog.com. Prices can often change as much as three times a day for certain popular routes, he said. Signing up for regular price alerts from AirfareWatchdog, FareCompare and similar sites keeps travelers informed as prices fluctuate.”

The fares may vary more when airlines find that, even at these costs, people are deciding not to travel or finding alternative transportation. The “extra fees” for services remain and may offset any savings accrued from the ticket costs.

Okay, here’s my two-bits worth – boycott those “extra fees” by choosing an airline such as Southwest, which is also offering cheaper fares (that really mean something). Then, instead of blowing the rest of your wad on hotel rates, rent a timeshare (we use http://www.redweek.com). You will be really surprised at how inexpensive a stay at a luxury resort can be! Try it, you’ll like it!
