More and More Fees from the Airlines

It is more than nickles and dimes. It can be a significant amount of cash. The airlines are looking at every possible excuse to charge for any service. Recently, there is the fee to travel on what is called a “busy day”. However, the creative charging does not stop there.
Here is an example. A few years ago, if you had a small, well behaved pet, it was just a matter of having the proper carrying case that fit under the seat. The pet travelled for free and was considered as part of the carry-on luggage. Those days are gone:
“… Your dog or cat can travel with you in your cabin, but it will cost you. You’ll pay even more on some airlines if you check your pet to travel in the belly of the plane with the checked luggage. Delta Air Lines Inc., for instance, charges $100 one-way for your pet to travel in the cabin or $175 for your pet to be checked on a flight within the U.S. On Delta, pets permitted in the cabin include dogs, cats, and household birds.”

As you are reading this, new fees may be in the process of being instituted. You can check the online site of your airline. Perhaps there might be some indication what additional charges might be policy now. However the site may not have the most current, new, creative fees. The best policy may be to carry extra cash. Your airline will have some clever way of informing you that you have used a service and that you need to settle an additional charge.
It will raise your blood pressure.
