Hackers Find Opportunity in Swine Flu Concerns
A tragedy, whether man-made or natural, is an opportunity for hackers. The Better Business Bureau has issued an advisory about online information about this current health concern:
“…The Better Business Bureau has issued a warning over possible email scams involving information on the swine flu outbreak.
The BBB is warning consumers to be on the look-out for fraudulent emails and new websites aimed at taking advantage of the current situation of the swine flu outbreak.”

Be careful which links you click and which links you pass onto friends and family online. Hackers and criminals know that people online are searching for information and want the latest updates. This is an opportunity to deliver malware and direct people to phishing sites.
Update your computer security and run your security scans. Chris Pirillo has an excellent security program offer for his readers. With the continuing medical / health concerns, anticipate that the amount of malware online will increase. It is just a predictable dark side of life online.

I have never been able to figure out what satisfaction hackers get from doing this sort of thing.
