Mother of Fourteen Children Turns to the Internet

The much publicized mother of fourteen (14) children has turned to the internet for funding. Without a job and with fourteen children in her care, Nadya Suleman now has a web site to solicit donations:

“…The Web site features pictures of a rainbow, child’s blocks and all eight of Suleman’s newborns. Also prominently displayed on the Web site is a prompt for visitors to make a donation, noting that the “proud mother of 14″ accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and PayPal.”

The long term expenses of raising this many children are simply staggering. It is doubtful that this website will generate much funds when the story falls out of the news cycle. Ms Suleman claims to be able to care for this number of children sufficiently. That remains to be seen. She may be the first single parent to ask ‘the internet’ for support in undertaking such a monumental responsibility. As a member of the internet community, what do you think of such sites with individual ‘help-me’ pleas?

The doctor that irresponsibly gave her fertility treatments should foot the bill.

Is this what me and my servicemen get shot at to support for minimum pay. Someone to knowingly be on welfare and admit to not being able to adequately feed 6 kids get a treatment for more and have 8, and ask for donations. There isnt anything wrong with this are you serious i pay taxes for getting shot at for this. The fact you even publish this and give her the publicity she wants is sad how about you put on a uniform with me.

She is on welfare, gets disability for 3 kids, and foodstamp
She cant work and properly feed her kids by her own statement.
Yet she pays for treatment isnt that neglect right there if not what is it as i have seen articles on parents getting charged for alot less. Where is child services on this one - we pay their salary right. “Again our tax money at work”

Seriously i love children would love to have more but i dont cause i make enough to care for what i got and save a little for a rainy day. To support someone like this is a burden to all of us that care and are responsible and sets a poor precedence in so many ways.

What Do You Think?
