FCC Investigates Comcast Phone Policy

Net neutrality is the concept that all internet traffic is treated equally. There is no favoritism of service. Comcast is being investigated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for possible violations:

“Comcast Corp., the nation’s biggest cable TV operator, is being investigated by the Federal Communications Commission over concerns that it is giving preferential treatment to its phone service at the expense of similar services from competitors.

In a letter to Comcast on Sunday, the FCC asked Comcast to justify this “disparate treatment.”"

Such as investigation is important. It is an affirmation that the internet service providers (ISP) cannot interfere with the quality of service to its customers. The FCC is holding the internet providers to the terms of their contract with the public.

Don’t worry about this. I am confident Comcast will surely find a way to put a positive spin on this. And at the same time Comcast will turn this into a reason to raise the rates it charges for internet service.
