Macy’s May Close Some Stores

In many communities, Macy’s is a name that is synonymous with retail shopping. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that ten (10) Macy’s under-performing stores may close:
“… The department store operator, which runs more than 810 Macy’s stores and also operates the Bloomingdale’s chain, had reported a $30 million loss in the first nine months of 2008, with sales dropping 4.3 percent.”

Macy’s is just part of the fabric of so many communities. With the closings and restructuring, Macy’s will become just a part of the history of these communities. This economic downturn spares very few.
