On the Google Chrome page, any mention of ‘beta’ has been removed. It seems that Chrome has left the ‘beta’ stage and, as the Guardian reports, the Google browser is becoming mainstream:
“Google claims its three-month old web browser Chrome has already been used by 10 million people in 200 countries, the web giant said today, claiming that after reaching performance and stability targets the browser has been taken out of beta development mode.”

This means that Google can collaborate with computer manufacturers to have Chrome pre-installed on new machines. With advertisers dealing with budget restraints, Google needs to maintain profitability. Chrome will add to the Google traffic and clicks - and makes Microsoft’s catch-up that much more difficult.

It will be interesting to see if Chrome gives Firefox a run for its money. It very well may be a possibility; 10 million users in the first three months is phenomenal. If they can keep the growth up (hey, it’s Google afterall) Firefox better watch out. Now, all they need to do is release a Mac Version! I’m waiting Google!
