The financial troubles with newspapers have been well documented. Advertisers are finding more success on the internet. Nevertheless, it is still jolting to see that The Miami Herald is for sale:
“…McClatchy, the nation’s third-largest newspaper chain, has approached potential buyers for The Herald, said these people. But they said they knew of no serious offers for the paper, reflecting the evaporation of major investors’ interest in buying newspapers.”

There are over thirty daily newspapers in the United States that are for sale. Publications like PC Magazine have changed their business model already. Unless newspapers can find a paradigm that gives customers added incentive to buy and use the publication, the newspaper industry will continue to be in decline. Some say that it is the price of progress.
