Immigration Official Charged With Harbouring Illegal Alien

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection is mandated to secure borders and prevent illegal immigration. It is ironic that a high ranking official of this agency is charged with allegedly harbouring an illegal alien:
“…Lorraine Henderson, whose job as Boston, Massachusetts-area port director for the agency included helping keep illegal immigrants out of the United States, was charged in federal court with harboring an illegal alien.
An affidavit alleges that the immigrant was one of three Brazilian women — all said to have been in the United States illegally — whom Henderson paid to clean her condominium in Salem, Massachusetts.”

It is certain that, in her position, Ms Henderson knew the law and the consequences. Although this matter has to be resolved in a court of law, it is baffling why an agency official would put herself in such position. If Ms Henderson is found guilty in this mater, it is especially egregious, given her position for which she earned a good government salary.

“The affidavit says Henderson warned the woman to avoid deportation, because authorities would never allow her to return to the United States.
“Wow, wow, if you leave they won’t let you back. … You can’t leave, don’t leave …’cause once you leave, you will never be back,” it quotes her as saying.”
My experience with Customs and Border Protection wasn’t exactly fun. Considering that, this story makes me sick, really.

Interesting, but not surprising. The affluent and those in the highest levels of government service believe that “the rules” don’t apply to them; only to “the little people.” It’s not wrong if they don’t get caught. And when they’re caught, there’s always some lame “explanation” or “justification” that would not be afforded those same little people for whom it was wrong at the outset.
Make an example of her by making sure that she gets everything that’s coming to her for this.
There are rules and processes for coming to, and staying in this country legally. Only when the rules apply to everyone will blatant actions disregarding the law like this one, decline.

Hypocrisy in America, we seem to want to set the standard. In Southern California, Laguna Beach to be exact, there is a city created turnout on Laguna Canyon Road where the wealthy can pick up day workers, mostly Hispanics, for domestic work around and in their ocean side homes. These affluent homeowners are also the most outspoken when it comes to illegal immigration. In Central California the farmers are their counterparts. They complain loudly about illegal immigrants until it comes time to pick their crops. I grew up in Southern California and now live in Central California. How embarrassing is that!!!

Gee, what a surprise. Who would have thought that a person of authority would thwart and/or abuse that same authority?
I mean, IRS employees always report and pay tax on their entire income and a cop would never speed, fail to use turn signals or get special treatment at a restaurant in his jurisdiction. A preist would never take advantage of a child who trusted in him.
