It matters not that there have been a string of losing seasons - or lawsuits, or off-court drama or paying a player millions of dollars not to play. None of that has diminished the worth of the New York Knicks. The Knicks franchise remains increasingly prosperous and the NBA most valuable team:

Some of that financial freedom may have led the franchise into difficulties. For example, the Knicks had the wealth to go over the salary limit and commit to large salary contracts. The knicks have advantage of a large fan base, in one of the world’s largest media centres. It is location location location - and some of the drama of the New York Knicks is expected. The drama has become part of the Knicks. The franchise is part of Broadway and is big business.
