The timing seems to be just right for EBay. Merchants and manufacturers are looking for the most efficient way to reach the consumer. And EBay is expanding its products to its online customers:
“EBay quietly began offering a service Monday to help large merchants sell thousands of fixed-price products through eBay.”

In theory, this is advantages to all concerned. The EBay customer has more selection; the merchants have an establish platform; and EBay may realize additional profits. The one caveat is that the online shoppers simply may not have the income to spend.
