Canadian Court Decides the Rights of Obese Fliers

In a court ruling certain not be please the airlines, the Supreme Court of Canada reaffirmed the rights of obese fliers:

“Obese people have the right to two seats for the price of one on flights within Canada, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled on Thursday.”

This may be a precedent in civil litigation that other airlines will have to follow. One person is only charged one fare. Kudos to the Canadian Courts.

Airlines should bypass all that silliness and bad press from charging for more than one bag, etc. by simply charging by the pound!

Airfares could be quoted as, for example, $.99/lb for coach, $2.99/lb for 1st class.

By packing properly, I could check in under 200 pounds. Why should I have to pay the extra fuel costs to fly with someone who refuses to control their weight?

And why should the airlines be forced to lose a paying seat to accommodate someone who refuses to consider the impositions they’re imposing on those around them?

And how do you define “obese”? I weigh 160 pounds and definitely feel obese when riding in an economy seat. I feel I deserve two seats for the price of one…

What nonsense!!
