Your Keys Soon At Risk

It used to be, in the good old days of last week, that your keys were secure as long as you had possession of them. Alas, to have the keys in your possession soon may not be enough. You might have to keep your keys from being photographed:

“…Scientists in California have developed a software algorithm that automatically creates a physical key based solely on a picture of one, regardless of angle or distance. The project, called Sneakey, was meant to warn people about the dangers of haphazardly placing keys in the open or posting images of them online.”

There may be some people reading this and thinking that soon keys will be obsolete. It will be some biometric identifier, like your iris, finger print or scent that releases locks. Keys will be very ‘old fashioned’.

Brave New World eh? I suppose it’d be handy to keep a picture in case you get locked out. 10 years until any locksmith makes one in this manner.

Sometimes I’m glad I live in a backward country.
