Possible Surprise Awaits eBay Sellers

The tax department in Canada is gathering data on eBay people. These are the eBay sellers that make a consistent income from eBay:

“…The court ordered eBay to turn over to the tax agency the names and gross sales figures of Canadians who earn at least $1,000 a month from online sales for three straight months.”

By court ruling, the online activities of these sellers are subject to government inspection. It can portend problems with the tax department and possibly an “amount due” from the federal government. eBay transactions are not private from the federal authorities.
