Helping With the California Fires
There will be scams in the email and sites appealing for funds to help with the California fire disaster. However, the site to visit is California Volunteers. If it is not possible to make a financial contribution, there are still many others ways to assist:

If you really want to help. Donate Money or BLOOD the American Read Cross and have them mark it for the California Fire Vicitims. That way you will know it will get out here to the people that need it. There are many, many people that need food, clothing, and a place to start over. These fires were as bad as a hurricane in the South. Over 1,000 Senior Citizens were left homeless in one neighborhood alone. With the economy like it is they need all the help they can get. 516 homes were burned to the ground in that one place. Three counties were devastated, with people loosing every thing that they owned even their autos. At last count over 1,700 homes were destroyed not including the apartment houses. Just make sure that if you give, give to a reputable agency, Red Cross, Salvation Army, etc. So that the money get to where it belongs.

As disappointed to hear that people are already developing scams for this latest tragedy, I am, unfortunately, not surprised. Anyways, I live in Montecito, and was forced to evacuate my home due to the “Tea” Fire. I think I can speak for all effected by this tragedy when I say thank you to all lockergnome bloggers/readers who chose to help.
