Hard Drive Stage Rack

One of my friends from whom I buy hardware knows that I need and use many external hard drives. I have to work with large data bases, so most are backed up on external hard drives. Today, he suggested that I buy a hard drive stage rack. It accommodates a 2.5 inch drives as well as a 3.5 inch drive. It seems easy to use:

This will be in my hands sometime next month. I should be able to switch hard drives without any tools. That would be so nice… a huge thanks to Mike for increasing my ‘geek quotient’ by a modicum.

Just be aware that the harddrive in the stand will not have a steady stream of air blowing over it or a heat sink shell to dissipate heat. The drive will get hot. Maybe even exceeding the thermal design limits. Would not recommend using these stands for any work that requires extensive and constant disk I/0 for long periods of time.
