Doc Rivers Sees Another Celtics Championship

There has been some surprise expressed about Doc Rivers, the Boston Celtics coach, saying that his team will win another championship this season. Isn’t that what he is suppose to do?
“…”The bottom line is we have to be a better team than we were last year to win it. We believe that,” Rivers said, according to the Herald. “To us, that’s a process that we’re going to have to go through all year to improve as a basketball team. And I think I have a group of guys that are willing to do that.”"

It may seem immodest or over-confident but that is why Doc Rivers has a job. He was hired to win championships. And any coach that does not have that as his goal at the beginning of a fresh NBA season should find another line of work. Besides, it is great marketing - it puts fans in the seats.
