Disagreeing with the Supreme Court

The Supreme Court stands by its ruling of child rape. It rules that the death penalty is excessive punishment:
“…The high court ruling invalidated Kennedy’s death sentence and established that capital punishment for the rape of a child – regardless of the circumstances of the crime or the age of the victim – would be an unconstitutional form of cruel and unusual punishment under the Eighth Amendment. The majority opinion said a societal consensus had formed against the practice.”

There are many who disagree with this judgement. - I count myself among them. - This is one of the most despicable crimes against the most helpless of our society. The law should be unequivocal: harm a child in this manner and the punishment is death. There is no ‘cruel and unusual punishment’ for such a crime.

This argument could be much debated. I for one am a Christian therefore don’t believe it’s my duty to decide who should live and who should die. This is a despicable act that should not be tolerated and I believe firmly in life without parol. However to say that he/she should be sentenced to death in my mind is playing the role of God which I’d rather not get into.
*On a side note if it were my child then yeah I would want him killed but that’s where the justice system comes in to override ecstatic parents.

I don’t think that anyone should be the ones to say who should live and who should die.
