Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates Commercial

What’s the message? “Vista is hard, let’s go shopping!”

Haven’t the Microsofties taught you anything? If you have problems with Windows, it’s because you’re stupid. People who don’t appreciate the wit, humor and powerful symbolism in the Jerry Seinfeld ad are similarly mental lightweights.

The ad clearly demonstrates that, far from a privileged megalomaniac, Bill Gates shops for shoes in discount stores, just like the rest of us. Remember the scene where Jerry Seinfeld takes a shower with his shoes on? That demonstrates how incredibly stupid people who use Macs are.

Then there’s the scene where the Latinos refer to Bill Gates as the Conquistador. Of course, their ancestors were murdered and enslaved by the conquistadores. That means Bill Gates is going to murder them - but only if they don’t understand his ad or buy Microsoftware.

As long as they do business with M$ and laugh at Bill Gates’ jokes, everything will be fine.

Of course, the most famous scene comes at the end, where Bill Gates wiggles his butt. This is simply a subliminal message telling us not to underestimate the world’s most famous nerd and phony philanthropist. Buried in that flabby body is an enormous sexual urge - once again conjuring up images of a conquistador.

I just saw that commercial a day ago and I was totally confused about what was going on… I thought it may have been a metamucil commercial! Ha ha, but seriously it made no sense so its not just you that did not understand the commercial.

I loved it. Of course, I have an entire blog dedicated to shoe-related humor and trivia.

I thought it was pretty funny. I like Vista. I like Gates. I like Seinfeld. What’s not to like? Sure, it was a bit low-key, but an entertaining piece of advertising. Sure beats those tiring PC vs. Mac commercials.
