Governor Sarah Palin Faces Republican Perils

Governor Sarah Palin has had a long term fondness for sports. She would appreciate that she has stepped into the Superbowl / World Series of politics. The media scrutiny has been intense and will intensify even more. It is part of the mandate of the media to hold candidates to the highest offices in the country to acute public inspection. However, the introduction of Governor Palin to a national stage means fresh stories and new bylines. And the press will be relentless.
Already there are stories critical of Governor Palin from Republican officials:
“…State Senate President Lyda Green said she thought it was a joke when someone called her at 6 a.m. to give her the news.
“She’s not prepared to be governor. How can she be prepared to be vice president or president?” said Green, a Republican from Palin’s hometown of Wasilla…”

Further, the choice of Governor Palin has meant that other possible Republican candidates were deemed not as suitable. It has meant some bruising to big political egos. There are many within the Republican party who disagree with Senator McCain’s choice. The criticism will be louder and much more public should Governor Palin stumble.
Senator McCain has taken a high risk / high reward choice in his running mate. He may be familiar with the rough-and-tumble of presidential politics. Obviously, he must think that Governor Palin can handle all that being a presidential running mate entails. Nevertheless, one must question how fair this is to Governor Palin who, a week ago, was far from a familiar name to American households.

Hello Chris et all,
Once again you are stepping out of technology, into dangerous territory. Not physical danger of course, but dangerous to your business.
I don’t come here to have you thrust your politics at me, whether I agree or disagree with your position. It just doesn’t belong here.
We’ve been ‘friends’ since your day one Chris, but I have an urge to start looking for the Exit door old friend.
Regards,
Andy.

Governor Palin, may have slipped under the radar of main-stream media; she was one of very few true conservative choices that I and others felt could cancel out McCain’s moderate leanings that had us so frustrated when he beat out other conservative favorites during the primaries. We felt that McCain would need a solid conservative to have any chance of winning the conservative base, and she certainly fills that bill. The fact that she is also a woman is a plus. The more I have heard about what she has done in the state of Alaska, only confirms to me that she is the right choice (I have to admit, I did not know she had done some of her most conservative actions, yet had identified her as a good veep option).
Any other arguments against Palin due to her short list of political experience become mute when compared to Obama’s.
The Dem’s thought the voters sent them a message in 2006, but in actuality the message was not intended for them. Many of us true conservatives abandoned moderate republicans for anti-incumbent reasons, opting to vote for Independents which unfortunately left the door open for the dems to win a few seats.
Everything Obama has been saying is almost word for word straight out of the speeches that Hitler used to gain power in the 30’s. Many of his policies sound good to those who do not know anything, but dig into the real effects and you realize they will do nothing or the opposite of how he makes it sound. He specifically stated that he will cut taxes for 95%, but then he says he will eliminate the capitol gains tax. For those of us individuals who do long term investing know that the capitol gains tax, limits the tax we pay for gains earned from long term investments when the regular income tax rate would make the tax higher. If you are an investor, eliminating the capitol gains tax rules actually increases the tax we would pay, taking money out of the economy that could better be used doing research and hiring workers.

If the Press & TV is as critical of Mrs. Palin as they have been of Mr. Obama, it will be a Cake Walk!

Thrusting his liberal bent into this forum is not new for our nerdy hero. Would that he stuck with subjects he is more familiar with and leave the punditry to those more capable.

Palin spent four hundered thousand dollars of tax payers money advocating aerialo hunting of wolves, bears, moose, and other Alaskan wildlife, even though 78 percent voted aganist this this so called hunting practice. Guess you could call her a woman with compassion. Her other decisions are just about as bad! This woman does not deserve or has the necessary attributes to be the vice president of the United States, or any other responsible position regarding public trust!!

Did you read your own link? Lyda Green is a political enemy of Palin. What would you expect her to say? - I’m sure she hates the idea.
If you could get an honest answer out of Hillary, do you think she’s happy about Obama running? Do you think maybe her ego is a little bit bruised? Why aren’t you writing about dissention in the Democratic party because of that? Oh, that’s right, probably because you’re a lib.

I agree that this is not the place for politics. I get that elsewhere. This should be for technology. I am starting to look some where else for my tech news because this has not been curbed.
