Security Issues with Solid State Drives

As prices of solid state drives (SSDs) drop significantly, they are gaining in popularity to the traditional hard drives. However, the SSDs have security issues of their own:

It is reported that the encryption keys can be hacked easily. This could present possible risks to personal information and large data bases. Encryption has been touted as one of the basic steps to safeguard data from being used for identity theft.

If the encryption keys are easily cracked, can one use other additional types of encryption (Truecrypt?) on top of the included one?
