Harmful Plants for Pets

People generally ‘pet proof’ a home before introducing a new pet. However, as the pet become integrated into the household routine, dangerous items may be introduced inadvertently. Some plants may be not be suitable for a pet household. For example, a chrysanthemum bloom may result in “gastrointestinal upset, including drooling, vomiting and diarrhea”. The ASPCA provides a list of seventeen poisonous plants:

It might be surprising what is on that list. You may want to move that English Ivy to a spot that the family pet cannot access.
