The ThinkPad: Newer Is Not Necessarily Better (Part 2)

Over the past weekend, I was part of a group that helped prepare nine new ThinkPads for use. These laptops were straight from the box - shiny, new and gorgeous. All the machines were put to use on Monday (yesterday).
This is Day Two for these machines. Today, two of the nine laptops will not start. Two machine will not start either on battery mode or with the power cord. When the start button is pressed, nothing happens.
At the moment, there are some very annoyed tech people - with high blood pressure.

In my school high school each classroom got 30 new thinkpads and the one assigned to me in american studies class had the same problem. It would do nothing when the power button was pressed.
