Amy Rodriguez Adds Speed and Imagination

With the injury to Abby Wambach, the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team will be looking for more offense. The team will look to young team members like Amy Rodriguez for offensive production. Although Amy Rodriguez is not as physically imposing nor as strong as Abby Wambach, she adds speed. She is extremely quick with her ball skills and, once by a defender, Amy Rodriguez is difficult to catch:

The National Team will need the speed to create scoring opportunities and disrupt the defense. At five foot four inches (1.6 meters), defenses will try to be physical with Amy Rodriguez. With her speed and creativity, Amy Rodriguez may surprise a few defenders. Teams will adjust to defend against that quickness; and then it will be a test of Amy’s creativity and imagination. Opposing goal-keepers will be watching for Amy Rodriguez. She will torment them.
