Flip Saunders Takes the Fall

Blame Flip. The Detroit Pistons management does. And Flip Saunders was fired from his coaching position:

“The Detroit Pistons announced Tuesday that they would not bring Pistons coach Flip Saunders back for his final season despite the fact that he led the team to three consecutive Eastern Conference finals.”

By most standards, Flip Saunders had an enviable record as the Detroit Piston coach. The team just didn’t go as far as management would have liked. Flip Saunders loses his job. It’s a tough business, even for millionaire coaches.
