Off Target Landing for Expedition 16 Soyuz

It was probably more drama than Commander Peggy Whitson and her crew had wanted for their return to earth. Their landing missed the target by hundreds of miles.

“A Russian Soyuz space capsule has landed in Kazakhstan some 400 kilometres off-target.

Russian officials say emergency helicopters are on the way to the site but the crew are safe and well.”

This has been an especially long mission for Dr. Whitson. She has been in space for one hundred and ninety two (192) days. It is a remarkable achievement. To Dr. Whitson and her crew, welcome home!
