Until the conclusion on Sunday, the Augusta National Golf Club becomes the center of the ‘golf universe’. And all eyes will be on Tiger Woods. Every golfer will look for his name on the leader board. It is the first major of the 2008 season and Tiger Woods wants a win at the Masters Tournament, to begin his run at all four of the major events in professional golf.
At his side, Tiger Woods will have Steve Williams, his trusted caddie. Wayne Drehs did an excellent background story on Steve Williams:
“…A caddie, Thomson told him, was part strategist, part psychologist, part mathematician and part golf-course encyclopedia. Williams was intrigued. And after he met a group of American caddies who explained he could travel the world, make an honest living and work mostly in perfect weather, he was sold.”

Steve Williams will be near by for every shot that Tiger Woods takes. He will have his input - and his influence. It is a team: Woods and Williams. Tiger Woods has a run at sports history and it needs to start with a win at Augusta. Steve Williams’ job to do all he can to make that happen. It’s a job for a perfectionist.
