The game was one second too long for The Lady Tigers. In that one final second, victory turned to defeat:
“…Hornbuckle’s putback with seven-tenths of a second left lifted the Lady Vols to a 47-46 victory over LSU in Sunday night’s national semifinal. It was the lowest scoring game in Final Four history.”

In thirty three minutes of playing time, The Lady Tigers had contained Alexis Hornbuckle. She did not score until the very last second. Her point total for the game was two. That was enough to send the Lady Vols to the national championship game. And a terrific LSU team goes home with a bitter last second memory.
