Water: The Changing Rules

It used to be so simple. The rule was eight glasses of water a day. It was easy to remember and usually easy to do. Now, researchers are saying that is a myth:
“Scientific researchers have revealed there is no solid evidence that drinking pure water is more beneficial to us than getting the fluids we need from our food - or drinks such as fruit squash, tea or coffee. In fact, the idea that we need to drink eight glasses of water a day is a myth…”

One doctor got curious about the 8 glasses of water a day. So he researched it and could find no source for it at all. So if people would stop drinking all that water in plastic bottles they would 1) be helping to clean up the environment, 2) they would be saving oil (that’s what the plastic is made from), 3) saving energy (how do you think the plastic is made).

Hey, maybe we should quit eating too? After all, it takes fuel to transport the food to your stores, and for you to drive out to buy it. It takes energy to turn the fuel into gas for your car. It takes energy to ship it from where they drill it to where it’s refined. It takes energy to pump it out of the ground!
Since we won’t need to eat, it will mean we need fewer cows, which produce CO2! A naturally occurring gas that allows plants to grow and they in turn use energy to make oxygen! Holy cow! I think I’ve hit on something!
We also won’t need to have all these companies that make pre-packaged foods for us to consume! Do you know how much energy that takes!
Gary, I think you’ve hit the nail on the head! NOT!
