The Extra Charge at the Airport

If you have booked a flight, it might be wise to check to see if the airports that you will be using have an additional charge. Some locations call it an airport tax. Other locations name it as an airport improvement fee. Travelers have been known to call it ‘highway robbery’, among other things.

In some places, this might be just a few dollars. If you are using an airport in the United Kingdom, be prepared for a shock. The additional fee for coach passenger is eighty dollars ($80.00) - and for first class ticket holders, it is a hundred and sixty dollars ($160.00). You might want to add those fees into your planning if you are traveling on a budget. It is a nasty surprise if you are caught unaware.
