Solid State Drive and Over Six Hours of Battery Life

In Japan, Toshiba is shipping a 128 GB solid state drive notebook. It is direct competition for the MacBook Air and the Lenovo X300. This is part of the package:

“…specs include a 1.2-gigahertz Core 2 Duo U7600 processor and 2GB of RAM. Toshiba promises a battery life of just over six hours.”

The advantages of the solid state drives have been discussed previously. To have your data on this machine, the Dynabook SS RX1 comes with a hefty price tag. The current price is a whopping four thousand dollars ($4,000.00 USD - depending on the fluctuating exchange rate). It’s not cheap to be trendy.
