Record Beef Recall in the U.S.

One hundred and forty three millions (143,000,000) pounds of beef has been recalled. “Downer cows” allegedly have been used. This is contrary to federal regulations. “Downer cows” are animals that cannot walk and are supposed to be separated because of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) or commonly called “mad cow disease”.
