It is a disturbing video on YouTube. It is an interaction between an experienced police officer (Salvatore Rivieri) and a fourteen year old skateboarder, Eric Bush:
“Don’t call him “dude.” A Baltimore City police officer is suspended with pay after a video surfaced Saturday on the Web site YouTube.com, depicting him yelling at, pushing and bullying a skateboarder after the teen allegedly disrespected him.
“The entire video raises some issues of appropriate interaction with a citizen,” said Sterling Clifford, city police spokesman.”

The video is disturbing (viewer warning):
It seems that Officer Rivieri forgot that Eric Bush is among those that he supposed is to ’serve and protect’.

Not seeing what happened to start this incident makes it difficult to really gauge what set this officer off this way.
I can’t say I am surprised that more of this type of behaviour of Police officers when dealing with youth as there is such a lack of understanding for youth on HOW to deal with an officer under any circumstances, (what their rights and responsibilities are), and a social disconnect on the behalf of most officers in dealing with youth.
I do find it quite telling that the officer begins to utter what might have been a threat to the other youth filming the incident. I’m glad this surfaced, and I’m glad that this incident didn’t get any worse.
