Rejected: Yahoo Says “No” to Microsoft

Now it can become contentious. Yahoo has rejected Microsoft’s business offer:

“SUNNYVALE, California (AP) — Yahoo has formally rejected Microsoft’s $44.6 billion takeover bid as inadequate. The response had been expected after Yahoo’s intentions were leaked over the weekend.”

There is speculation that Yahoo is considering alliances with AOL or Google. The initial bear-hug letter from Microsoft to Yahoo was crafted carefully as to be non antagonistic. Now, it might become hostile. The money is an obvious issue. There is the further issue of ’saving face’.
