The Willow Kinloch Surveillance Video

The Willow Kinloch incident is controversial in Canada and especially in her home province of British Columbia. The following is part of the surveillance video. - I would like to say that this is not pleasant viewing. Please avoid viewing this if you do not want to be upset. I found it extremely disturbing, on many levels. Again, skip the video if you are sensitive to abusive violence.

Apparently, this was for Ms Kinloch’s own protection:

“…”It was related [to Kinloch at the time] that because of the time of the night, age and level of alcohol impairment, the police would not be able to release her into the streets for obvious safety reasons,” said the report.

In other words, Neary explained, Kinloch was being taken into custody not to be charged, but for her own protection.”

Judge for yourself if your think this is how citizens should be treated ‘for their own protection’.

It may be fact that they took this girl into custody as a “protective” measure, recently a man who was too drunk to protect himself was left by the Vancouver PD, to die of exposure in the alley behind the Main St police department. The dates are somewhat removed, but still the various police departments do have some inter-communication.

As far as I know , the juvenile was taken into custody and had no ID, and was fairly belligerent and offensive right from the get go. I watched the video when it was first posted, and it is VERY disturbing. I noticed that when the matron was in the cell the girl made a lunging motion with her head. I wonder if perhaps the girl in her drunken state made the mistake of spitting at the matron. If she did then while the following video is disturbing, the act of spitting in the face, is something that is dealt with VERY harshly by the police (everywhere I imagine).

I can’t condone the rest of what I see there in that video or the recent spate of police actions that have lead to at least one mans death (another very disturbing video). The timing of thing however might be suspect considering the age of the incident itself.

Well First she is not innocent , she was caught DRUNK by the police which shows she has poor character. She should not be drinking while underage and she should never be drunk. It is her own fault she was arrested there is no doubt about that. Secondly there was no abuse. Nobody punched her face or assaulted her or beat her while she was in the jail cell. Her behavior was totally uncooperative with the police and when she made a hostile motion towards the officer they had to respond to protect themselves. And they responded appropriately by restraining her.
Then you have this little girl crying o why did they do this? well actions have Consequences and clearly she did not think of the consequences of her actions when a) she decided to break the law and get drunk and b) decided not to obey police instructions and be hostile towards the police.
This is just an example of a troubled youth making poor choices. Whats really disgusting is she gets $60000 dollars for being a disfunctional person, why should tax payers pay $60000 dollars to a person for being disfunctional?, If anything she should be sentenced to do community service and sent for counseling. You could get a free college degree for $60000 dollars assuming you put in the work? heck i would rather pay $60000 to the top high school student in BC thats a better investment.
