Security: Tuning Out With Earbuds

  • No Related Post

Even some of the less expensive earbuds are good at delivering music, whenever and wherever you want. They are effective in sound reproduction and masking the ambient noise of the surroundings. I just wish that people would not use them while driving a car.

In many communities, there is legislation restricting the use of cell phones and text messaging while driving. It is unfortunate that people do not extend the common sense to earbuds too. And yes, it is far different than listening to the car radio or car stereo. At least then, the driver still is able to hear the sounds of the surrounding traffic.

It is the intent of these earbuds to isolate the listener from the ‘outside’ noise. However, this is so dangerous while driving.

I sometimes use my ear buds while driving but my music is NOT blasting my internals and I make sure I can hear the traffic sounds.

Honestly, the way some people drive in our area (aggressively) I don’t think hearing them will do much good since they are not courteous, cut people off and tailgate.

Quite frankly, I need to tune those idiots out. Have you heard some car radios blaring? If you can hear anything over those sub-woofers and dBs at jet plane levels good luck.

You are right though…people should be careful as driving is already distracting enough. I definitely do NOT wear these with my child in the car. At those times, it’s total focus on driving…period.

Peace!
