Organ Harvest Without Consent

Each year, thousands of lives are saved due to organ transfer. This is made possible by the consent of people who grant the use of their organs after death. It appears there is a movement to harvest organs without consent:
“Gordon Brown has thrown his weight behind a move to allow hospitals to take organs from dead patients without explicit consent.”

Clearly this would violate the privacy of the deceased. There are a myriad of reasons, religious and private, that would preclude some from being organ donors. To harvest organs without consent is simply disrespectful. It seems that the state wants the decision and control concerning the organs of the dead. And the state erodes the rights of even the dead.

I figured this was going on anyway, rob the dead.
That goes to show this is just a drop in the bucket compared to what we really know that goes on in this world.
So why be shocked about this?
