School Pat-Down Searches

It seems possible that in the Las Cruces Public Schools security trumps privacy. It also seems to trump any respect for the students and employees:
“…When the Las Cruces school board meets Jan. 15, they will return to a discussion on a draft of student and employee searches, which may include pat-downs by administrators, parking lot inspections and random desk searches “for any reason, at any time, without notice and without consent.”"

Would you allow your child to undergo such searches? - The assumption is that everyone is suspect unless proven otherwise. It is not only students; it is employees too. Such actions are in the name of security. Is this the social norm that citizens want? You have no privacy. You have no civil rights.
