If you have some airline travel this month, you should be aware of the air carrier regulations on lost luggage. Not all items are covered with luggage that goes missing. There are slight variations between airline. Here is a general rule:
“…Most airlines pay up to $3,000 for lost items but not only do you need receipts, the airline will only pay fair market value, not what it costs to replace the item.
Plus, “The laundry list of things the airlines do not cover is extensive, everything from electronics to fragile items,” Grant added.”

There is a risk in checking in any baggage. If some things will not fit the ‘carry-on’ requirements, make sure you know what exactly has been checked in and that there are receipts for such items. Ask yourself, in terms of time and distress, what would happen if those checked in items disappeared. - Do you really want to take the chance and check in that holiday gift?
