Dell’s first Tablet PC has been launched. It appears that the target audience is definitely the corporate purchaser. The features are as one might expect:
“…the Latitude XT has a 12.1-inch LED-backlit screen, a 1.06-gigahertz Intel Core 2 Solo processor, 1GB of memory, and a 40GB hard drive. It comes with Windows Vista Business edition or XP Tablet Edition. The whole device weighs 3.57 pounds, and has about 5 hours of battery life…”

There is a bit of price shock associated with this launch. The suggested retail price is twenty five hundred dollars ( really $2,499.00) - ouch! Perhaps corporations can justify the expense. It would give pause to the general retail customer.

I also believe this price is excessive. We can not forget that even though it has a tiny 40 GB Hard drive, it is Solid State. They are using quality parts. This is not your cheap $400 Black Friday laptop.
