Free Happy Meals For Good Report Cards

Let’s put some McDonald’s golden arches over the schools in Seminole County, Florida. Somehow, McDonald’s has been able to convince school officials to reward good grades with a free Happy Meal:
“…The incentives are described as “food prizes,” and a report card of all A’s and B’s or an attendance record blemished by just two absences is enough to earn a student a free Happy Meal.”

Isn’t this simply advertising? It is marketing directed at a key McDonald’s demographic: kids. There have been concerns about the weight and physical fitness of school children. How is this, in any way, going to help? This McDonald’s program is tagging a corporate marketing plan to educational tax dollars - and let’s be truthful. It is all about profit.

Yes, let’s reward kids with junk food and make them fat. I hate McDonalds.

I would think that free food from that place would act as a DISincentive.
But maybe it’s just me….
